My name is Aiden Saunders and main goal is to be an outstanding student and athlete and to be an inspiration to others who feel that they have to choose between the two. It is just as important to be a star off of the field and in the classroom as it is to be one on the field. Once my career in sports is over my goal is to be able to give back to the sport that I love by coaching. I want to be able to teach and mold young athletes like my coaches have done for me.
Everyone at this level has talent but what I believe sets me apart from others is my work ethic, determination and leadership skills. There is no one on the field that will outwork me and my coaches will back that statement up 100%. I am determined to be the best that I can be every single day and that requires that I give more than 100% during practice, workouts and after when I am working on my own. It is the extra effort that is put in off of the field that will make the difference on the field.
I also possess natural leadership skills. As a younger athlete my playground coaches allowed me to run practices. As a freshman in high school on the varsity team I was given the leadership roll for the defensive secondary. Also the number 14 is a special number for Live Oak that is passed down by seniors to upcoming seniors who are considered deserving of the honor. The senior that had the number 14 when I was a freshman passed it down to me for my sophomore year. This is this first time in school history it has been passed down to an underclassman.
I am confident that, between my athletic skills, leadership abilities and outstanding work ethic, I would be an excellent addition to your teams roster and a positive influence for the entire team.
