Through sport, I have learned how to handle adversity as well as handling success. I play football not just because I love the game, but also because I believe it is a great model for life, and to be able to have the opportunity to extend my playing beyond my senior year of high school would be a great privilege. I began playing the sport in the third grade by trying all different sports at a young age. The competitive edge of football brought me back every year to play, realizing I wanted to play as long as I could.
I believe another great model for life is school, and just like football, there are ups and downs in the classroom as well. I put academics as a top priority because, through learning which has always appealed to me, it will give me the best opportunities when I graduate high school. I take school seriously just like I do football, and I also set academic goals as well. I want to graduate having taken in the hardest classes possible while being successful. I would like to maintain a consistent level of high grades throughout college and attend a university that values academics and football at the same importance. On the football field, wherever I am lucky enough to go play at the next level, I will bring a calmness to the huddle, as well as a calmness and sense of collectiveness for the team when either adversity or success strikes.
