Personal Statement
The most difficult thing that I have ever done in high school was to participate in our high school play. For the past 3 years I have spent my time challenging myself both academically and athletically. Up to this point in my life, I have always measured myself against an opponent or a numbered score on a piece of paper. When it came to competing in those areas, I was comfortable. I understood the challenges and always figured out ways to overcome them, or at the very least meet those challenges to the best of my ability. Being on stage and pretending to be someone else was a completely different experience for me. When I was first asked to participate I was very hesitant, but after a little bit of convincing I thought I would give it a try. The play ended up being a success, I received a lot of compliments and most importantly, I proved to myself that I am more than just a student athlete.
While I have tried to make the most out of my time in high school, my goal is to pursue a degree in the field of engineering and to continue playing football at the next level. It is my hope that I will continue to grow as an athlete and a human being in this next phase of my life. I believe I have a lot to contribute to a university and to a football program. I am very excited to meet the challenges that lie before me.
