Personal Statement

My name is Denzel Hill.  I’m a senior at North Point High School in Waldorf, Maryland.  I consider myself to be an outstanding student-athlete enrolled in Scholars Course of Studies and maintain a weighted "A" average.  I am 6’3”, 185 pounds, and I run a 4.40 in the 40 yard dash.  I was recently selected for the Chick-Fil-A All-Star Team because of my outstanding football season.

I have always had a love for sports.  So as a student-athlete, I play sports during the entire high school year (football, basketball, and track).  While I enjoy playing basketball and running track, I really love football.  My positions in football are Wide Receiver and Place Kicker, but I'm also interested in Cornerback and Safety. I am very analytical by nature, which I use in studying the sport in order to improve my understanding of the techniques involved in football. I understand that hard work, repetition, and dedication are required to be a successful kicker and receiver.  As an athlete, I like to have fun while playing football, but I also know when it’s time to be serious.  I am a very hard worker on and off the field and I love to see my results. My dream is to attend college and play football for a college that can use my talents as a wide receiver and/or kicker.

I am looking for a school that has diversity, a good engineering program, and a football program that’s somewhat close to a city.  I have a strong interest in majoring in Engineering, because I like finding out how things work, and I love to work with my hands. My goals for my senior year is to finish high school with a GPA of 4.0 or better, so that I will have even more options and increase my marketability as a collegiate athlete.  Finally, my last goal is to play football or run track at the collegiate level.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
