Personal Statement
I am a student athlete of Nigerian decent from Brockton, MA that attends Brockton High School. I will be graduating high school in the year of 2020. As a young black male from Brockton, I'm not in the richest family. My parents are Nigerian immigrants that traveled to the United States for better opportunities in life. When they came here, they worked really hard to provided for my brother and I over the years. When i was a young child, they introduced me to the fascinating game of football and admired it ever since. As in right now, I found it certain that i would want to play football in college and also for years to come but that wouldn't be possible if I don't put in work in the classroom. I believe that a college would be interested in me because of my character and the goals that I set for myself.
I'm a respectful, intelligent, and coachable athlete in and off the field. I'm the type of person that is not afraid to take on a big challenge. Another thing about me is that I always put school first before anything. Good grades open up many good opportunities for college. School is very important because there are some people in the world that don't have access to good education so that their knowledge on certain things could expand overtime. A goal that i made for myself is to show improvement in my football IQ and also in the classroom season by season. Another goal that I made for myself is to improve my speed and strength each season. One last goal is to finish high school with a GPA of 3.6 or above. When i graduate high school, I would want to study civil engineering because i like the idea of design, construction, and environmental work which can help certain communities.
