My name is Jonathan Applebee and I just finished Senior year at Winthrop High School in Winthrop , Ma. I play QB and DB for the Winthrop Vikings football team. We are finished 5-6 this year. We run a wing t offense and ran for over 1700 yds while passing for nearly 500. We play in the NEC outside of Boston which is a combination of schools from D3-D6 and will include D1 Everett next year. We lost a couple close games we should have won but finished strong going 301 to close the year.
I just finished a productive summer where I attended several camps in the state (Williams, Bentley Elite, Springfield College Elite, WNE, and Excel 2x) and competed with some of the better competition in the Northeast in both camps and 7 on 7 tournaments. I also participated in our summer weight program and made some good gains across the board. It was a busy schedule as I also worked youth camps , held down a job at the Winthrop Market, and did some construction demo. I am 17 years old around 6 -6'1 165 lbs and left handed.
I had a good Junior year in school where I gained a 3.65 GPA for the year and I currently have around a 3.3 GPA total going into my Senior year. I'm looking to improve upon my grades so that I may be better prepared for College next year. I also play basketball and baseball and have made Varsity since I was a sophomore as well as participating in some theater presentations and some singing. I have a lot of interests but football is my passion and I have worked really hard lately to get better at the smaller things so that I may thrive this fall. I've done a lot of extra work with my QB coach Tom Guy from Springfield , Ma, and I trust it will pay off .
Its my hope that I play well enough to get a chance to continue playing football into college where i can pursue an education in Business. I am a very passionate person with a strong drive to compete and win and I look to have that translate to the field this fall.
Thank you ,
Jonathan Applebee #10
