Personal Statement
Like many other talented athletes, I dream of playing in the NFL or MLB. As I come closer to the end of my high school career, I realize that I am one of the few who can still hold on to that dream as I have excelled on the football and baseball fields. My parents and I chose for me to attend the local high school, which has not, historically, had a stellar football program. Our baseball team as, however, gone to the State Championship two of the last three years. I have been the starting Varsity Quarterback since my sophomore year and have been on the Varsity Baseball team since I was a freshman as a pitcher and shortstop.
My dad attended the University of South Carolina on a baseball scholarship from 1979-1983 and played in the College World Series two years. I would love to have the opportunity to follow in his footsteps into the athletic arena in college. I have two brothers, one older and one younger. We are all involved In sports, and my parents support us 100% and motivate us to be the best that we can. Athletics has been integral in my development as a person, teaching me the values of hard work, discipline, respect, fairness, cooperation, and friendship among other things.
I plan to major in criminal justice in college. My goal is to graduate and pursue career opportunities in the field at the state or federal level. While working toward this goal, I would love to be able to continue my path as an athlete at the collegiate level.
