Personal Statement
My name is Connor Smith. I’m a sophomore in high school. I’m 5’10" 155lbs. As a sophomore I got moved to the varsity level to play as a starting wide receiver and went on to average 21 yards per catch. Varsity was a real eye opener and has taught me a lot about myself and the sport. In addition to football I also run track. During my freshman year I was moved up to compete at the varsity level as well , running in the 100m, 4x100m and 4x200m. Throughout the season I constantly placed in the top three for the 100m and to finish my season off I had the opportunity to race at my district regionals as one of the few freshman. Speed has always been a natural gift for me and working hard to get faster is a priority. I am constantly pushing myself to get better whether that be academics or sports. For school I take advanced classes such as English 11 and science/ chemistry. I always have strived to get good grades and always will. For sports I am constantly working throughout the season and the off season whether that be lifting weights to get stronger to working on mobility and footwork drills. I would be a great asset to any team. I’m always striving to better myself as an individual and to better those around me. Bringing the team together is my number one goal. I work hard to complete any task I set my mind to and I won’t stop until I see results.
