Personal Statement
My name is Jahz Watts and my biggest priorities in life are God, family, and school, but my passion is football. I also enjoy composing music and singing. As a musician I play the drums, piano, and guitar. I volunteer these talents at my local church and in my community. My college aspiration is to be successful football player, and major in Broadcast Journalism. I train daily to achieve my goal of being a premier college football athlete. I also compete in track and basketball on the Varsity level.
I understand that playing division one football is every serious high school player's dream, and few athletes get the opportunity to achieve that goal. This fact drives me to work hard and strive everyday to get better and be the best. While a division one scholarship is my goal, a college scholarship of any kind will be an awesome opportunity. I try to outwork my competition daily, and I am serious about reaching my goal. One day I want to be able to honestly say to my self " I did it", and my hard work paid off.
My love for football is tremendous, and it grows daily. What separates me from any other recruit is my unique combination of leadership, drive, and versatile athletic ability. Every time I step on the football field I give it my all, and keep grinding to be the best. As a Quarterback I know how important it is to be a leader, and my team looks to me for direction and motivation. I also realize that leadership and good decisions are required on and off the field. Good character is worth more than all the fame and fortune in the world.
I have successfully and progressively played football since second grade. I have honorably been selected to serve as captain or leader on various football teams. I helped lead the Washtenaw Warriors to an undefeated season including a regional championship (Pop Warner). I am currently the Quarterback (I also play WR & DB) for the Belleville tigers in Belleville, MI. My current GPA is a 3.0/4.0.
The game of football is my passion, but most important to me is my integrity, character, success, and reputation on and off the field. I work as hard in the classroom as I do on the playing field. I am dedicated, committed, and motivated to succeed in life and help others in any way I can. I will make an excellent recruit for your team, and an excellent student at your university.
