Logan Decker '25 Recruiting Profile

Brotherhood, that one word can sum up how I would describe my football career thus far.  Football has been a part of my life since I first stepped on the field as a Kindergartener and strapped those flags around my waist, little did I know that would be just the beginning.  This journey that has taught me discipline, dedication & the ability to build strong bonds.  

I played throughout my elementary school years on a youth football league in Michigan Center, Michigan (2014-2018).  I approached my parents in fifth grade on the likelihood of moving from public school to a local private school in Jackson, Michigan.  In 2018 I embarked on a pilgrimage to complete my sacraments of the Catholic faith, later joining the Lumen Christi Catholic Jr./Sr. High School family for the 2019 school year (7th grade).

For the 2019 & 2020 seasons I played middle school football for Lumen Christi, mid-way through the season our 8th grade team was riddled with injuries and coaches asked 7th grade players to step up and assist this team for the remainder of the season.  I was the only 7th grader that rose to the challenge.  Stepping up put me outside of my comfort zone put pushed me to be better, you make yourself better when you play with higher talent & skill.  

Fall 2021 I was first string middle linebacker on the Lumen Christi Junior Varsity Football Team.  I led the team in tackles and was presented the Grit Award for the season.  As our Varsity Football Team embarked on the playoff season I had the opportunity to move up from JV to the Varsity team to increase depth for playoff success.

For our 2022 season I was moved as a sophomore to the Lumen Christi Varsity Football Team under coach Herb Brogan.  

Football is not just a sport to me, growing up that’s all I wanted to do was play football. From the time I could hold a football until now, it has shaped my life in many ways and had huge impact on my values and beliefs.  Forming brotherhood bonds, we are a family.  A family, that pushes each other when the going gets tough & celebrates successes.

As I plan for my future I am striving to join a college that allows me to further my football career, holds morals & values high, and will provide me a great education to set me up for success upon graduation.
