Personal Statement

2011 was basically my first year playing football. I played in my freshmen year but after getting beat-up, focused my energy back on academics. I grew substantially throughout my sophomore year and in my junior year decided to give football another try. After a much better experience, I made the conscious decision to excel at football in my senior year and play collegiately. To accomplish this goal, I have taken full opportunity of college camps, my schools weight facility, working with a personal trainer, and modifying my eating habits. In addition to my football related goals, I place intense focus on my academics and my contribution to leadership within my high school. I am ranked 6th out of 107 students academically, while studying AP classes. During the past 5 years, I served as Class President, and was elected to hold the position of Student Council President during my senior year. My academic achievements include nomination to the National Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars. In 2011, I was selected by school faculty to attend the HOBY Leadership Conference as my schools representative. Additionally, I was awarded the Outstanding Academic Achievement Honor from the People to People Leadership Program held at Harvard University in June, 2010, and was selected to attend the National Student Leadership Conference for Entrepreneurship & Business held at Fordham University in New York in July, 2011. I have a strong desire to bring my athletic and academic skills to a Division I college. As a hardworking, highly coachable athlete, I would contribute a positive attitude and commit an unyielding drive to the success of your football team.
