Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Zachary Taylor from New Boston, Michigan. I started playing football when I was 6 years old in my community's junior football league. I've been playing since and have always had a love of football and playing with and against my friends for six years. In middle school all the kids joined each other and played as one team. Our seventh and eighth grade teams went undefeated. I am a sophomore in high school and was pulled up to the Varsity Team. I have started every game this season on offense as left guard and defensive end. I am 6'2", 230 pounds and still growing. Being pulled up to varsity as a sophomore was an honor for me as the coaches have a lot of faith in me and depend on me to help the team to the best of my ability. My goals are to work and train hard for the rest of my high school career. Playing football in college is a goal I plan on achieving. I train all year for football and in the spring participate in track & field events. My personal goal during this offseason is to gain mass and run faster. By working hard, this shows my commitment to myself as well as my team. My father passed away when I was 10 and he was a big football fan and helped coach the junior league, when I'm on the field and playing, I feel close to my dad and know that he would be very proud of me.
I would like to study business in college and hopefully someday work in construction management. I have worked with a family friend building a house and find that type of work very rewarding seeing the end result. It has inspired me to work hard in school so I can attend college and gain the experience to possibly start my own business and help family's with their dreams.
Other than football and track, I volunteer at my church and the local Huron Sportsman's club with various events.
