Andrew Durkin '16 Recruiting Profile

I am Andrew Durkin and I attending Pontiac Notre Dame Prep.  I play Outside Linebacker and Wide Receiver for Notre Dame Prep and we recently went 8-3 in my last season of football.  I play football, basketball, and run track and field.  I have been playing football for 4 years (2 years on Varsity), basketball for 4 years (2 years on Varsity), and Track and Field for 4 years (4 years on Varsity). I was named captain for my team and I received the All-League award for the Catholic League.

            I just completed my two best semesters and I received a 3.2 GPA for my Junior Year.  Although I do not take AP/IB or Honors classes, I set myself up to take the classes I need to further my knowledge and understanding of all subjects. 

            I am a very active person, playing three sports is very difficult to do and to keep up with school work is very important and I think this makes me very mature and responsible.  I am also trustworthy, brave, smart, sincere, and skillful.  I think not only does playing sports and getting good grades make me who I am, but confidence, courage, integrity, and honesty make me who I am.  I think I possess a lot of leadership qualities like being attentive, open-minded, respectful, enthusiastic, and well educated.  I worked an event this past summer called “Miracle League Baseball” and it was an event for children with all disabilities and it was very heartwarming and special.  I am looking for a school where I can earn playing time right away and to be a part of a successful program.
