Personal Statement
My life has been influenced by all the sports I play and the teammates I play with. I am a three sport varsity athlete: football, hockey, and lacrosse. I also water ski, surf, snow ski and play the piano. I conquer each sport and the piano by giving it my all and practice as if competing.
The sport that has influenced me the most is football. I started playing flag football at a young age. As I have grown and began competing at higher levels, my love for the game has grown. I love the physicality of the game and, most importantly, the friendships, the chance to be a leader, the lessons of teamwork, and the brotherhood created. All are necessary to have in life. The bond I have with my football teammates is life changing. Football is also a game of inches which has taught me that you need to have grit and grind to gain that extra inch in the game and in life. This is evident not only in the way I play the game, but also in the classroom where I give it my all.
As a freshman I had the challenge of living up to the expectations. I went above and beyond the call of duty on and off the field to prepare by earning a starting position in my freshman year. I was a two year starter on JV, on both sides of the ball. My first year on varsity I was a starting offensive lineman. What makes me unique is my unparalleled dedication, work ethic and love of teammates (my football family). I play with all my heart and soul. I have also learned that football teammates are more than just friends, they become family and, to me, family is everything.
