I am Joshua Patterson. I am 17 years old, 6'3" tall and I weigh 255 pounds. I am always the first on the field and last off. For my Senior season, I was moved to Center this past summer. My coaches asked me if I would move to Center and run the O Line. I jumped at the chance!! Although, I would play wherever they think I can best help the team. I received All Missota Conference as a center.
Last season (my junior season) I was the starting Right Offensive Tackle and back Up Left Offensive Tackle on Varsity. I was also on Red Zone defense. I was one of 3 players who played both ways on varsity. Our team won conference championship and we were section runner ups. My sophomore season; I was 1st Team back up for both Right and Left Offensive Tackle as well as 1st Team back up for Defensive Tackle on Varsity. I was one of a handful of players on varsity that played both ways. Most weeks I played in 3 games. I know I bring a lot of positives to the football field such as leadership, work ethic, knowledge, size, speed and strength. But just as I know I bring a great deal of positives to the football field, I know there is a lot I need to work on, such as; more speed, more strength and more knowledge which is why during the off-season I am in the weight room every night after school lifting, doing footwork drills, and talking to coaches. I have also been snapping after weight lifting (my offensive line coach has a saying he drills into us... "knowledge is power"). Last year I could play every position on the offensive line except center. I have changed that and am able to play every position on the offensive line and am currently the Center. I am DRIVEN to succeed in football, school and life!!!
I am very interested in Engineering. I am just not sure which field of engineering, but ones I've thought about are production, mechanical, civil, and architectural. I have also been thinking about teaching math and/or science and coaching. I have been doing some coaching lately and I have found I really enjoy coaching football and working with kids! When I am not out on the field practicing a sport whether its football, track or baseball, I really enjoy the outdoors like hunting, fishing, camping, ATV'ing and snowmobiling.
