Personal Statement
My name is Eli Thompson, I am a 6’2 195 pound wide receiver in the class of 2024 who has a deep passion for football. Ever since I first walked out onto the field in 2nd grade I have been in love with the sport. For as long as I can remember it has been my goal to have the opportunity to play football at the next level. I work hard year round on the field and in the classroom in order to achieve that goal. In the off-season I attend numerous camps and combines in order to further develop my skills. I feel that my hard work ethic and determination are what help me to excel not only on the football field but also in the classroom and in life in general.
Football has taught me many important lessons that I will carry with me throughout my life. It has taught me most importantly to be a team player, meaning that you must put the team before yourself. Football has also taught me that you must work hard but also play smart. This means that along with all the hard work you do training you must also study film, playbooks, and the game in general. Lastly, football has taught me that you must fight through the pain. Life is tough but you can’t let that stop you, you have to keep fighting in order to succeed.
To me football is more than just a game football is my way of life.
