Personal Statement
I was selected as a freshman to be on the varsity football team in 2013. I was chosen by my peers as captain of my freshman team. I worked hard in the spring of 2014 to earn the starting safety position for the 2014 season. We run a 3-4, but my knowledge of the game allows me to play whatever defense that's asked of me. I've been a defensive player for the varsity soccer since 2012, that season we advanced to the state playoffs; I'm a long jumper on the varsity track team. I won 3rd place in three different meets, and was able to advance to the regional track meet in 2014. At the 2015 District I won 1st place in the long jump & 2nd in the triple jump to advance onto the Regionals and then the North Half.
I studied very hard my freshman year and managed to score proficient on my history and biology SATP2 test and advanced on my algebra test. By doing so I was award a season pass to all sporting events for the school. This year I will take and pass my English SATP2 test. I finished last year on the honor roll with a 3.45 GPA. At this time I'm an honor student at Columbus high.
I've been taught to put put God first and to stay humble. I have work ethics that are second to none in the classroom and on the fields. I work out extremely hard during the off season in order to keep the edged over my opponent. I study the game hard, but I study my own imperfections even harder. I'm a member of the youth council at Southside MB Church, and I've currently applied for the Explores program through the school which is a part of the local police dept. Law enforcement is a big interest to me because that's my dad's profession, and I love what he does for our community.
My goal is to be part of a program that has very high standards for its student/athletes.
