Personal Statement

Hi. My name is Celestin.  My parents call me "Cj' after my grandad.  I have two great parents. Marsha and Celestin III.  I love my family and I have lots of friends.  

What makes me a good candidate:  

I am motivated to not only be good in my sport, but I understand the importance of getting a good education and preparing for life after football.  I can follow directions and I am a team player.  

What makes me different from other recruits in character, athletics, and academics

Well, people say I am a funny character. I am a class clown. This makes my mom mad because it has gotten me in a little trouble.  But I like to make people laugh; I just got to do it outside the classroom and not inside the classroom.  I am different in character because I like to make people happy. I am different from most of the other players in athletics because I am one of the biggest players. I play offense and defense.  I also run fast. In academics, I don't know.  I may not be the best in any class, but I like school, and I love math and science.  My grades are ok, but they need to be better.  My mom has been a school teacher for 17 years, and I know the importance of being a good student and being a good reader. I guess what makes me different in the academics part is I am a good reader.  People don't think of black boys being good readers, but I am. I read above my grade level.
