Personal Statement

Hi. My name is Celestin.  But my family calls me Cj after my granddad.  I am 14 years, 2 months, and 23 days old as of today.  I'm also 170 months and 23 days old.   LOL... As you can see, I like numbers.  I like math and science.    I want to do a lot of things in my life. I do not want to just play football.  I also want to build and sell houses.  I want to go into real estate. Yes, I love football and want to play every day, but I know that everybody can not play forever.  After I finish crushing them boys I need something to fall back on.

What makes me a good candidate:

I don't know if I am the best yet, but I am working every day to become better.  I am not perfect, but I am willing to try my hardest and listen to people around me to become the player I know I can be. My mom and dad believe in me. They tell me every day that I can do anything I put my mind to.

What makes me different from other recruits in character, athletics, and academics

Well, people say I am a funny character. I am a class clown. This makes my mom mad because it has gotten me in a little trouble.  But I like to make people laugh; I just got to do it outside the classroom and not inside the classroom.  I am different in character because I like to make people happy. I am different from most of the other players in athletics because I am one of the biggest players. I play offense and defense.  I also run fast. In academics, I don't know.  I may not be the best in any class, but I like school, and I love math and science.  My grades are ok, but they need to be better.  My mom has been a school teacher for 17 years, and I know the importance of being a good student and being a good reader. I guess what makes me different in the academics part is I am a good reader.  People don't think of black boys being good readers, but I am. I read above my grade level.
