I'm pretty lucky to have had some great experiences and opportunities. My parents are both in the military, so each time we've moved it's been an adjustment. New challenges became my bread and butter. I love to learn... both in the classroom and on the football field, but as the consummate "new kid" from someplace else, I constantly had to work harder to stand out. It's not genes, or privilege, or luck that put me in a position to go to a good university or to play college football. A lot of people have those gifts, but it takes experience and sacrifice and dedication to go further. I'll get there: I believe because I have a fire inside me that drives me to be better; To be a good citizen, teammate, student, and man.
I've been honing my craft, trying to focus on the little details for any advantage on the field or in the classroom. I've become a good student and football player, but it's easy to be good at something and hard to be great. I want to be great. I want to play against the best players and learn how to outwork and out-think them to gain the advantage needed to win. It would be easy for me to be a good college student; hard to be a great student athlete competing at the highest level; but that's the goal I'm putting in motion.
