Personal Statement
I have studied hard and disciplined myself in athletics during my high school years to be the best player I can be. Playing hard every play, being prepared and focused and never giving up is my opinion of being a great player. Being on a team requires dedication, determination, and leadership. I have always worked hard for my coaches and fellow team mates so we have the best opportunity to win. I have loved the preparations on the practice field and in the weight room to become stronger and faster. Personally I have kept a rigorious workout schedule to keep up my endurance and speed.
Being a college student athlete is a personal goal of mine. Since one of my goals is to play football beyond high school I have worked hard in all my academic pursuits. To prepare for college, I have chosen to take the most challenging courses offered at my high school. These course have challenged me to be a better student. I have studied and prepared for the ACT to get the best score possible to receive my own academic scholarship for college. I am 17 years old and can not say I have determined all my dreams, goals and aspirations at this time, but I have been thinking about my next steps. Since I am younger than most in my class, I know I have a lot of growing to do.
Personally, I have had to deal with losing playing time during my sophomore year and this senior year. As a sophomore I was out some games due to a broken collarbone and this senior year I was out for the opening of the season with a torn menicus/ ACL. This was very disappointing for me, but made me more determined when I returned to the field to play with intensity to make up for lost time with my team. Leake Academy is currently district football champs and we are looking forward to our playoff games. My academic goals include receiving a degree in business and/or physical education. I also plan to pursue a post graduate degree.
