After a great summer of college workouts, drills, and lineman camps, I was excited to start my 2011 senior season with our Hollister Tiger team. Even though we are the smallest school in our COC conference, our expectations were still high after we made our first playoff appearance in 2010. I felt great after our first game of the season and I knew it was going to be a special year. Unfortunately, things did not go according to plan and I suffered a broken fibula in the first quarter of our season opener while playing defense. Thankfully it was a clean break and I worked hard to stay in football shape while my leg healed. With Dr. Reeve's clearance I was able to return to the field in less than six weeks and play for our Homecoming game on October 7th, 2011 against Stockton and finish out our final four games of the season.
It was an absolute honor to be one of the starters that played all four years of our football program. Nobody forgets the very first team. Thos of us from the start have something no one else has. We can hold our heads high and years in the future we shall return and celebrate championships from this foundation that we built.

It was our total team effort that allowed me to be voted best offensive lineman of the year by my coaches, and given the Brotherhood Award by my teammates. It was definitely a honor to have received recognition by coaches from two larger schools in our highly competitive football conference. Fair Grove coach Jason O'Neil said that I was the best lineman he had seen on film all year. Head Coach Roweton of Bolivar, with his powerhouse team, called me "The Real Deal." Certainly, they were instrumental in my becoming our Hollister High School's first ever football All-State Honoree. As a junior, when our Head Coach Kevin Roepke and Assistant-Strength Coach Jacob Hamon told me that I was named Class 2 All-State Second-Team, the first player from a first year program to receive all-state honors in five years, I was excited but it was second team which gave me something to go after as Senior. I am proud to be a part of the foundation of Tiger football history and am now ready for college.
