Personal Statement
I can't imagine my life without a schedule revolving around sports. I believe being a student athlete will not only enhance my college experience but fulfill my dream of playing football in college. I found my love for the game in peewee football as I was one of the biggest and oldest kids. I loved the feeling of making the winning tackle or the game-changing sack and celebrating with my team. My character and love for the game were tested when I was in middle school and as a Freshman, as I switched positions from Defensive-End to Middle Linebacker. I struggled to learn the spot and to perform at it. I credit my experience in the younger years to pushing me through the rough times. I listened to my coaches and applied their knowledge as I continued to get better each game. All in all, I learned that if you truly love something you will be willing to work at it.
Academically I am very competitive as I have 4 other siblings and we all overachieve and compete with one another. I feel this will continue into college as I have built an expectation for myself to achieve nothing less than an A (95%). Honestly, I enjoy looking at the grade and seeing the reward for all my hard work. That grade to me is the goal-line stand in football: there is nothing more exciting or exclusive than the feeling. Together my academics and athletics combine to shape my character and push me to strive for greatness in every aspect of my life.
