Personal Statement
My name is Justin Blakey and I dream of playing college football, at the highest level possible. I work very hard to achieve this dream. I am committed to my studies, my teammates and myself and hold true passion and longevity. I put my skills to action. I am self-motivated, excited to be an active participant in team efforts, and willing to put in the extra effort to achieve success. I am coachable– the art of being able to listen and then adapt to what I’ve learned.
Football is a priority for me, just as my other life priorities of God, family, and school. I have been playing football since I was 7 years old and it is my passion. I train for football year-around. I participate in aggressive off-season training to add mass and improve my strength, speed and agility.
I strive to lead by example with my character, hard work and dedication. In the summer of 2014, I was awarded the Best Offensive Lineman at the 2014 Dermontti Dawson football camp and the Offensive Lineman Courageous Heart award at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes football camp.
Serving God is a priority for me. I regularly do AV work at my church and actively participate in the youth programs. Academics are a priority for me. I am maintaining a 4.05 GPA while taking Honors and AP courses, preparing for a college major in Engineering. I am open to attending any college in the country offering me the opportunity to play football and earn a degree.
