Personal Statement
Hello my name is Jalen LaBella, I could be a good candidate for your team because I am extremely hard working, and willing to do anything to help the team succeed. I'm a responsible, dependable, and reliable student athlete. As an athlete I know the game inside and out, and I'm willing to do the training necessary to be ready to compete at the collegiate level. Academically I recently won first place in my school at a Science Olympiad competition within my district.
In recent months I was nominated and chosen to attend the American Legion Missouri Boys Camp this summer. This is a great honor and opportunity to further to develop my leadership skills.
I would like to share a little about my character. I am the kind of person who puts other first. A great example of this was last football season another player that was a starter on our team forgot his kneepads and was not going to be able to play in our last home game. I offered him mine knowing, that I then may not be able to play. No one knew I did this for the other player and I was his back-up. so, the more I thought about it the more I realized I needed to come up with a solution that would allow me to go in if needed. I improvised and removed my insoles, rolled them and used them as knee pads. In the end we were both able to play and the only negative impact was sore feet after the game.
In closing I would like to say that I have a strong work ethic. I worked my way up from the freshman team, to jr varsity and a little bit of varsity this year. For my Sr Year I will be starting varsity. Once I commit to something I follow through in all aspects of my life; work, sports and school.
