My name is Gannon Benton and I will be a 2024 graduate of Kickapoo High School in Springfield, MO. I am interested in contributing to a college football team while pursuing my interests in Architecture or Engineering.
In addition to playing DE/DT, I am also wrestling for Kickapoo this year and look forward to the benefits it offers on the field.
Activities I participate in outside of athletics include:
The Youth Empowerment Project is designed to promote volunteerism, grantmaking, fundraising and education to involve high-school and middle-school students in community-based philanthropy. Established in 2001, the YEP program now includes chapters at 30 schools.
Kickapoo University holds students to a high standard in attendance, academics, community involvment and leadership.
A message from my head coach Nate Thomas:
"Gannon is a tremendous leader in that he shows up on a daily basis and gives his absolute best. As a coaching staff, we know exactly what we are gonna get from Gannon each and every day.
Gannon does not say a whole lot vocally but leads by example.
He has a unique ability to get along with everyone on our team including the coaches. Just someone you enjoy being around.
He is very coachable and you can tell him exactly what you want done and he will run through a brick wall trying to get it done. Just an awesome young man to coach and makes us a better football program in every facet. Practice, weight room, games, classroom, and in our community. He is a walking billboard for what we want in our players. "
