Personal Statement

I am a 5'9" 200lb. quarterback/linebacker with a very strong throwing arm and excellent game management skills. I directed our run-oriented offense which featured two 1000+ yd. rushers to the Montana class B semifinals as a sophomore in 2008. I was a two way starter in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and I was a co-captain my junior and senior years . I was given the Ironman award in my sophomore, junior and senior seasons for my leadership and dedication in the weight room and the Lion heart award my senior season. I was 2nd team all conference quarterback my junior year and selected as all-state quarterback and linebacker in 2010. I am a member of our team's 1000 lb. club which is a combination of max lifts in bench, squats and cleans. I am most dangerous to opponents in a roll out and option pass offensive scheme. I read defenses very well and can think on the run. I have directed a shotgun offense as well. I have been an academic all-state athlete each semester in high school. In college, I would like to pursue a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. I am interested in becoming a military leader as a pilot and I look forward to coaching as well. I want to attend college as a student-athlete in any part of the country for any size school where I can contribute to a program. I prefer to play QB but I also love defense. I attended Terry Copacia's All-State Quarterback School in June 2009 and in 2010 I attended the New England ELITE camp hosted by Coach John Papas. My family will need financial assistance to pay for college and I will apply for community, state, and private scholarships my senior year as well as FAFSA to assure my college education is a reality. Coaches, parents and athletes on both sidelines would attest to my character, sportsmanship, leadership and drive on the field. Off the field, I have volunteered and participated in community service projects such as fundraising, mentorship, and the Key Club community service group in my high school. I am a member of the National Honor Society. I am a 3.8 GPA student and a three sport athlete. I also participate in my schools Key Club, Tech Club, Mentoring Program and Peer mediation Program. I attended Montana Boys State following my Junior year. I wrestle in the 189 weight class and I play American Legion baseball as a catcher, infielder and outfielder. In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors, camping, hiking and fishing.
