When I was a young kid football never really interested me, but the second I put my helmet and shoulder pads on for the first time in 5th Grade I knew I was born to play the game. I excelled at the sport throughout middle school and was very excited to finally play high school football. In 8th Grade I tore my ACL early in the season, this really tested my love for the sport. It really tested me both mentally and physically, it opened my eyes to how much work and dedication football took, and I was willing to do anything to get back to playing again. It taught me patience, perseverance, and how to deal with obstacles that seem almost impossible, without this injury I know I would not be the player I am today. Along with the life lessons football teaches, my parents have also been the main force in making me the player and person I am.
I am hard working, coachable, and a leader in whatever I do, if you want me to do something I am going to do it with 100% effort every time. I also feel that being a leader is the most important aspect of any athlete, I want to win and I am willing to do whatever it takes for me and my brothers to be in the best position to do that. I also like to stress the word student in student-athlete, my whole life I have been determined to excel in school because at the end of the day my brain is going to get me a lot farther than my sports. I take high level classes that challenge me because I know putting in the hard work now will be worth it down the road, college is where all the work ethic means the most, I want to go to a school where I know I am going to get an education that will set me up for a good future. Football and academics go hand in hand, I give both of them my full effort and am determined to excel in both of them. My dedication, work-ethic, and sense of leadership are all key characteristics that make me the student athlete that I am.
