Personal Statement
Being a farm boy from Central Nebraska, I believe I have a lot of characteristics a coach would be looking for in a football player. On the farm, we get up early and work hard all day. We work together as a family and do what needs to be done to get the job completed. As a member of a football team, I show up to every practice and opportunity to lift. I show up early and work hard for the entire practice, focusing on what I need to do to improve myself, and my team.
I am a 6 foot 1 inch Middle Linebacker from a small Class C school in Central Nebraska, Gibbon High School. I run a 4.8 40, and have a 33 inch vertical jump. I have started varsity for three years as Middle Linebacker and anticipate I will start as a senior as well. I was a captain of the football team last year. I ranked 10th in all classes for tackles in 2016 as a Junior. I was all state honorable mention my freshman and sophomore year, and was awarded first team all state as a Junior. My grade point average is a 3.91 and I rank 4/52 in my Senior class. I have been a member of National Honors Society since my freshman year.
I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the field. I would like to pursue a university with a good reputation in the field of agriculture& engineering. Ideally my athletic environment would be one where I could make an immediate impact on the team. I believe my best fit would be in a DII or NAIA environment, although I am open to all levels.
