Personal Statement
At a very young age, I wanted to play college football. Growing up on a farm gave me the physical and mental toughness to be able to compete well in the game. By playing football, I've found that if I put my mind to something, vividly picture it, I can achieve anything. I want to excel both academically and athletically.
Academics is one area in which I have been blessed and have had success. During high school, my main goal is to graduate at the top of my class. Within my community, I'm active in my church as youth group president and usher. Later on in college, I would like to become an engineer, preferably an agricultural engineer. Over the years, I have had to overcome the doubts of many people. Coming from a small town in Nebraska, there have been people who have doubted that anyone, including myself, could be a successful athlete in college.
One characteristic that my coaches have said I have is versatility. Many times over my career I have been put in different positions and asked to do different things on a game-by-game basis. My versatility is one thing that I know many coaches at the next level are after in athletes. I am looking to find a school with a good engineering program where I can achieve my goal of playing college football.
