Personal Statement

Playing college football has been a goal of mine ever since I first stepped onto a football field as a Pop Warner Athlete. Every fall, I have worked hard to be the very best. Over the years, I have played many different positions on both sides of the ball. I also enjoy sharing with younger players my enthusiasm for the sport and I have spent time helping younger players in the middle school league while playing for my high school team. During the summer I volunteer as an assistant coach for a youth basketball camp. I have also had the honor of being the captain of my jv and varsity basketball team where I earned an mvp award for my jv year. Outside of the athletic arena, I am the only student sitting on the committee to hire a new principal for my hs. I was nominated for this by my current principal/Algebra teacher. In addition to school, athletics and volunteer work, I have been working since I was 12. I work for a custodial company cleaning office space, gyms and industrial buildings and I do lawn maintenance from May - October for several neighbors. I am interested in majoring in Marine Transportation and/or Engineering types of study.
