Personal Statement
I have played both youth football as a quarterback and AAU basketball as either a shooting or point guard, since the age of five. I have consistently played at my level and the one above in both sports. I know what determination and hard work is. I spend my off days at the gym, with my speed and agility trainer or my strength coach. I constantly push myself to become a better athlete and person.
I have been a two sport varsity athlete since my freshman years.
I played on the freshman, junior varsity and even played a few games on the varsity team my freshman year. During my sophomore year I was the starting quarterback for the varsity team. My strengths as a quarterback are that I can roll-out to easily evade tacklers or pass from the pocket. I can also read defenses, see mismatches and throw the deep ball as well. These accomplishments were among the top highlights of my high school career, so far. I sustained a knee injury during the football season in my junior year (torn PCL) which limited my ability on the field. I have had my PCL repaired and worked very hard to make it back stronger than the prior year. I can honestly say that this setback made me more determined and a mentally tougher player and person.
I’m determined to play at the college level and know that my hard work ethic and resilience will assist me in seeing this vision become a reality. I am looking for a college program that will be a great fit for me athletically as well as academically.
I look forward to adding value to my next team.
