A lineman must be relentless, bloodthirsty, and aggressive as he makes his charge, and I believe I can do such things. I live for the grind, enjoying the grunt work and experiencing an adrenaline rush every time I step onto the gridiron. There is no other feeling in the world quite like getting up from a tackle, and knowing you have created a living hell for the opposing team, while creating a show for all the people in the stands. It is not easy work, nor is it pretty, but it is something that is needed, and I will not back away from the challenge.
I have been thankful to be in Ridge High School, as I have grown as a person and an athlete from my freshman year to my upcoming senior year. I may be 6'3" and 235 lbs. , but that does not account for my tenacity, technique, and ferocity on the line. last season throughout my seven games on the varsity team, I acquired the most tackles as a defensive lineman and the second most on the team. The linebacker who had the most tackles was positioned behind me, and we would play off of each other as the games progressed. I took on the double teams and allowed him to rush into the gaps. Changing the momentum of a play or game is my job, and I execute my job as I would in practice, as perfect practice leads to perfect execution on the field. I play across the line on both sides of the ball, primarily as a Defensive Guard and Tackle, and on Offense as a Center and/or Tackle. I am a long snapper, and have been recognized in the Ray Guy Special Teams Camp, where I won the overall Gatorade MVP award. I would enjoy playing in the intercollegiate level, as I would enjoy being able to play four more years of the best sport on God's green earth.
