Personal Statement
My name is James Cook. I am currently a Senior at Belleville High School in Belleville, NJ. Upon graduation, I hope to attend a four-year college and pursue my dream to play professional football. There are several reasons why I feel I am the most appropriate candidate for your organization. First, I possess the strong drive, passion, and determination to work hard and be all that I can be. I put my heart and soul into anything I do. In sixth grade, I was a top Science Fair Winner in a school-wide contest. I think critically and have taken my schoolwork seriously because I realize that dedication pays off in life. While my ultimate dream is to become a professional football player, my preferred area of study is in the medical field. I would like to pursue career opportunities as a professional football player, physical therapist, or chiropractor. The second reason that makes me an ideal candidate for your program is my strong leadership abilities. In Middle School, I was recognized by my teachers to attend a leadership conference in Washington, DC. While there I was elected by my group to be president in a mock legislative exercise. The third reason that I am a great fit for your program is that I have a heart and concern for others. Through regular participation in my church youth group, I have learned to serve others by visiting the elderly in nursing homes, feeding the homeless, and sending care packages to storm victims. The fourth reason I am a good fit for your program is because of my exceptional athletic ability. I am passionate about the sport of football. It has been my dream to play on a collegiate and professional level. If given the chance to attend your school and play for your team, I would do everything I can to help my teammates win championships for this great organization. Finally, the fifth reason that I am a great recruit for your organization is that my family is a huge part of who I am today. I have one brother and one sister that look up to me. I want to make my whole family proud by becoming a successful college graduate, athlete, and professional.
