Personal Statement
Even though I played baseball most of my youth, I’ve always wanted to play football. I learned at an early age, through my experiences with baseball, the importance of working hard, the value of leadership and that everything happens for a reason. I was cut from an A team and played on a B team that went on to be far more successful and enjoyable to play for than the A team. There were countless learning experiences and personal growth through those years.
I began playing football in my freshman year of high school. I was fortunate enough to have a coach that recognized my athletic ability and my eagerness to learn. In my very first outing as a varsity player, I had 8 catches for 112 yards and was an integral part of the 42-41 overtime win against our local rival team. We all realized the importance of teamwork and perseverance that night.
I am looking for a good academic school where I can compete at a high level athletically. I believe I have the ability to play at a college level and my work ethic, commitment and leadership skills would be an added benefit for any organization.
