Personal Statement
Football is a big part of my life. I always played sports, including soccer, wrestling, surfing, and even baseball, and have had success at all of them. However, nothing has ever been as important to me as football.
As a member of the Old Bridge High School football team, I am a versatile player who has played a variety of positions. I had a great freshman year ending with a move to varsity as a second-string kicker for the playoffs. As a sophomore, I played JV and also varsity where I was one of three sophomores lettering! Next year, as a junior, I anticipate starting on offense, defense, and both kicking and punting.
Even though I have had a lot of success, I am constantly working to improve myself for football. This includes weight lifting with the team to get stronger, running track to get faster, working with various trainers for speed and agility and kicking, and attending a variety of college camps to improve my skills. In addition, I work out at a crossfit gym as much as possible.
I know that skill isn’t everything. I always support my fellow athletes on and off the field. You’ll see me as the player who high-fives a player who just did something great on the field or gives a pat on the back to second-string player who finally got in the game. I’ll be the first to grab the equipment that needs to get back in the locker room, the first to arrive and the last to leave.
I know that football will be only part of my college experience. That’s why I work hard to keep my grades up. I hope to study engineering or maybe math in college. I know I can be successful!
