In 2017 I am looking forward to leading the Artesia High School football program in seeking a 30th New Mexico State Championship. Losing in the 2016 State Championship gave me valuable experience to prepare in the off-season and work during the regular season to achieve this goal. I pride myself in being a student of the game and training hard to make the most of my athleticism and intelligence.
Although I am honored to have been named to all-state teams in football and baseball, the awards I am most proud of are being named by my teammates as Most Dedicated in baseball and Most Valuable Player in football. A scripture I strive to live up to is Ecclesiastes 9:10: “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.” I am confident my work ethic and dedication will enable me to compete at the collegiate level.
Whether I am going to get in extra lifts or going to work on footwork, my car is usually the first in the parking lot. In season and during the off-season, I know that my willingness to put forth extra effort and time will enable me to compete to the best of my abilities.
