Personal Statement
My greatest aspiration in this stage of my life is to become a student athlete at the highest athletic and academic level. I am fortunate enough to have free or reduced tuition to a number of schools, due to the tuition exchange program and my mother's career as a writing Professor at Syracuse University. This allows for the opportunity of walking on to a football program to be a realistic possibility for me. I have been told that one of my greatest intangibles is my work ethic. I currently train twice a day, between agility training before school and weight training after. I started my first varsity football game at the quarterback position as an 8th grader playing against athletes as much as four years older than me. Motivated by an underdog mentality I quickly learned the grit and perseverance that success necessitates. Today my coaches and teachers do not need to push me, only guide me in the right direction because I am highly self-motivated by the everyday opportunity of improvement. I feel my second greatest attribute is my knowledge of and genuine love for the game. My father is a high school football coach of 28 years and ever since my first experience with the game of football I have been enticed with its complexity and strategy. With that being said I would like to emphasize that as President of my class and an honor student currently holding a 92% average, academics come first no matter where I decide to attend. My number one priority is to graduate and receive a diploma from an elite institution in order to ensure that I can achieve what I set out for in my life after football, because I am well aware that every one will one day play their last down. Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. I would be more than happy to answer any further questions you may have.
