Kory Corkins '17 Recruiting Profile

    I began playing football and also began wrestling in middle school. I learned quickly that there was no better feeling than going out on the field will full equipment on and playing ball. I fell in love with the sport. Football has always been my escape. When times were rough and things weren't looking up I always would look forward to the end of the day when I could put my shoulder pads and helmet on and let the worries of the world be forgotten. I have always aspired to advance my career in football beyond high school to the collegiate level. I understand that with any step in life beyond high school there comes a degree of difficulty or challenge but I have never been one to back down from a challenge. I also understand that playing at the collegiate level is a once and a life time opportunity, but that it also is a privilege and life changing experience.

     I not only strive to obtain success on the field but also off the field as well. I never feel that there isn't room for improvement, there always is! I push myself to become not only a better athlete but also an accomplished, well-rounded individual. Whether this be studying for classes or training to fine tune my skills, get stronger and faster or develop helpful and health connections in my community. I believe that you can only preform well on the field if you also preform well in the classroom.

    Constructive criticism makes my day. When someone gives me another view of something I could improve on I get excited to continue to grow. I believe that I am a very coach-able,  and versatile athlete. I wish to attend college not only for the love of the sport but to also jump start my life. I was raised in an atmosphere that believed in academics trumps over all. I hope to become a successful young man who can provide for not only myself but my family and loved ones in the future.
