I am a Three Sport Varsity Letter winner at Grand Island Senior High School. In football, basketball, and baseball I've developed as a leader which resulted in being selected team captain for each sport. In addition to earning many athletic awards, I keep high academic standards and play a role in many student and community growth activities.
This is my fourth season as starting Quarterback for the Grand Island Vikings Varsity Team. Ever since I started playing in youth programs, I have aspired to play sports at the collegiate level. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that can continue to positively change my life. With each successful high school season, my dream of playing at the college level gets that much closer!
I continuously work to improve and refine my athletic and mental skills, as well as, train to increase my overall physical capacity. I am a team leader that leads by example while encouraging my teammates, in order to make my team the best we can be. One of my best qualities as a player is that I am very coachable. During the off-seasons I work very closely with Mr. Joe Licata, the former University At Buffalo quarterback, to perfect my footwork, refine my reflexes, and improve my accuracy. His coaching not only improved the physical aspects of my game, but also gave me an added sense of confidence that I transferred to my fellow teammates. Together with the help of an expert and my own conditioning, I continue to become a stronger, smarter, and more physical player. These aspects of my game are further enhanced by my determination. I thrive when given a challenge and gladly accept any responsibility bestowed upon me. I truly strive to be the hardest working player on and off the field, while maintaining a high GPA, as I am enrolled in honor-level classes, and received a teacher-nominated academic and character-based award called “The Pride of the Island”. I have also been awarded the Outstanding Male Athlete Award by the Grand Island Athletic Director, Mr. John Roth, for the 2015-2016, 2016-2017, and 2017-18 school years. I am currently the Senior Class Vice president and a member of our school’s DECA program, which prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. As an active member of my church, I volunteer in several community service projects each year, including serving at soup kitchens, serving coffee and donuts after Sunday Mass, and packaging boxed lunches for less-fortunate school-aged students in the Niagara Falls Area. I am also involved with a youth group called Young Life, which values a strong faith, good decision making, and taking pride in all you do so that my life has great worth, meaning, and purpose.
I intend to find a college that challenges me in the classroom as well as on the football field. I am open to all future options as I currently have great success as a three-sport high school athlete. Therefore, I am looking to find the right college match with the highest level of competition possible. I plan to continue to be a great role model to all my peers and make my family proud.
