I am currently a 190 pound 6'2" junior quarterback at Herkimer High School who would make a great candidate to participate in your football program. Within my junior year as quarterback I led my team to a 9-1 season that ended in a division championship. I have the ability to set the tone for the team and to keep the momentum going to the very end, win or lose. As the competition gets harder I find myself playing harder as the challenge is very stimulating. After every game I watch the films multiple times to see what I need to improve on and changes that need to be made. I feel the best way to continue to grow and advance is by realizing there is always room for improvement no matter how good you are.
During the summers I volunteer at a baseball camp to help teach younger kids the fundamentals of baseball. I also attend available football clinics, when available. On a daily basis I practice various football drills on my own as well as with my teammates.
I know for a fact I will make a impact on any team I play for. I am a natural leader and will make everyone around me want to win. The difference with me and other athletes is if I want something I go above and beyond to ensure I get it. What also makes me different is I don't only excel and sports, I also excel in the classroom.
Football for me is not just about my athletic ability it also about my mental ability and maintaining a balance. I feel I am a well rounded individual who works hard to maintain an equal balance between my studies and sports. I have always been taught to put a 110% effort into school work as well as athletics. This philosophy pushes me to stay focused and to continue to gain knowledge. I have also been taught to respect others, always keep a positive attitude, and there is no "I" in Team. That team success comes from working together and helping each other. Another important lesson I have learned is to stay coachable and listen to what is being said because coaches/teachers have a lot of knowledge to offer. I feel my hard work and eagerness to continue to learn has made me successful thus far.
