Demetrios Demetriades '19 Recruiting Profile

My ultimate goal in college is to obtain an excellent education that will help me be successful in whatever career I ultimately choose.   

I have been playing sports since the young age of three and absolutely love all sports.  Over the years, I have played multiple sports on various teams, including, Baseball, Soccer, Basketball, Ice Hockey,  Rugby,  Track & Field and Football.  I have also trained extensively for many years in Tae Kwon Do, achieving the ultimate rank of Black Belt .  Being involved in these various teams has taught me how to be a great team player.  In addition, I have learned about diverse strategies and coaching techniques by my various coaches. 

Training in the strict art of Tae Kwon Do has instilled in me the 5 tenets of my oath: Courtesy, Integrity , Perseverance,  Self Control and an Indomitable Spirit .  I live my life by this oath both on and off the field and always strive to be the best I can while remaining humble and courteous throughout.  I believe that this gives me an advantage over other recruits as these virtues, together with my commitment make me extremely coachable.  

My mother is an attorney and my father is a Pharmacist. As professionals, they have always instilled in me the value of a good education .  I take my academics very seriously and have been in the National Honors Society every year since the 6th grade.

One of my favorite soccer players of all time,  Pele, once said, "success is no accident, it is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying and sacrifice"     and these are words I try to live my life by.
