The greatest influences in my life have been my family. It is through my family that I have developed a strong personality and an authentic character. I first became interested in the sport of Basketball at the age of 10 and I have enjoyed it ever since. I’ve always enjoyed sports but when I saw my neighbor and best friend playing Basketball I gained an immediate interest in the game. When my father saw that I had a growing interest in playing he immediately signed me up for the local youth league team. Many of the coaches said that I was a natural athlete and that I displayed skills beyond my years.
Sports have taught me how to be a better person on and off of the field. Being a athlete has motivated me to do well not only on the field but in the classroom. My academic goals are to pursue a career as professional athlete. I fully intend to complete my education and pursue a career in either Communications or Physical Education. I recognize the importance of education so I have made a personal commitment to do the best that I can to achieve a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. I believe that if I commit to my education the same way that I have committed to sports that I can be an excellent student.
In my life I have experienced the death of close friends and relatives. Losing these individuals have taught me that nothing lasts forever. Realizing that my life will one day end I want to approach each day with no regrets. I intend to do my best as both an athlete and student. I know that I will be an asset to any Collegiate Athletic Program, if given the chance. Thank you for the opportunity to share a part of myself with you.
