Personal Statement
My collegiate goals are to play for a highly competitive football team and maintaining a GPA above a 3.0 at all times. I want to be a role model on my team, on my campus, and to members of my family. An athletic goal of mine is to lead the country in interceptions. Academically, my interest is in engineering with future hopes of developing football equipment that maximizes safety and agility for athletes. Overall, my goal is to be a well rounded student athlete and to develop strong football, educational, and life skills.
I will be a good candidate for your team because I am a great leader. I understand that leadership means taking responsibility for the successes and failures. I would encourage my teammates to value hard work and results and to reject excuses. I also recognize the value of strong communication as a leader, which is one of my major strengths both on and off the field.
I am different from the other recruits because of my advanced work ethic. I will not be outworked. Ever since I started playing football, whenever I wasn’t the most talented player on the field, I was always the most hungry. I might not be the fastest guy, but I’m going to run every sprint harder than everyone else. I might not be the strongest guy, but I’m going to be in the gym longer and more often than everyone else. I’ve always been able to listen to my brain telling my body not to stop pushing even when I feel like I’m reaching my physical limits. This is my most defining quality as a player and a man. I will not be outworked.
