Personal Statement
After playing high level hockey my whole life, I decided to play football before my Junior year....and I am so glad I did. I have fallen in love with the sport and now want to play at the highest level of College possible. I am a 6'3 250lb Tight End/Hback and sometime Fullback. I run about a 4.9 40 and am working to drop that to a 4.8 or better. Over my 2 years of football I averaged nearly 20 yards a catch and 10 yards per carry and scored or gained a 1st down on over 80% of my touches from scrimmage. I have worked hard to get up to speed on the game, and I will continue to work hard to get better. I know I am relatively inexperienced and raw but I know I have only scratched the surface of my football ability.
I am looking to major in Athletic Training. I am also looking for a football program that is involved in the community and charitable organizations. My goals are to be the best player at my position in whatever league I play in, while being the best student I can be, and be looked at as an integral part of the community that I play in. I want to be remembered as one of the best players/students/people the school I attend has ever had.
After contemplating some offers I decided that it would be best for me to attend Hudson Valley C.C. for a year or 2 before moving on to a 4-year program. With my inexperience in the game of football, my family and I feel this step will only propel me to bigger and better things. This past season was a huge success all around. My team finished 8-2 and played in the Salt City Bowl in Hutchinson Kansas. I was the starting Tight End and although we dont throw the ball to the TE often (4 catches on only 4 targets all year) this season was a huge learning experience for me. I became a much better blocker and route runner and am a better all around player.
