Personal Statement
From the time I was little, I was built for strength, dexterity and speed. I walked at 9 months, ran and climbed at 11 months and haven't stopped since. I played every sport imaginable except Football because of my size until middle school. (The first time I got a basketball in a game, I tucked it under my arm, put my head down and ran down the court. That's when I learned about traveling.) Although I had never played Football before middle school, it wasn't long before I knew it was what I was made for and where I found the real me.
College is where you are supposed to find out who you are going to be in life. I know Football is part of who I am. It has given me an identity, discipline and purpose already, I can only believe it will help me to develop further in College as well. One of the things I will never forget about character and academics is what my family has taught me that I am to be a Gentleman, Athlete and Scholar. Gentlemen demonstrate good sportsmanship in all situations. Athletes demonstrate their physical ability on the field and by helping others. Scholars demonstrate their wisdom by applying knowledge to make things better. That's the type of man that I hope to be and what I plan to do with my college career and, really, my life.
