Personal Statement

My college years’ mission is to make every opportunity, academic and athletic, a testament that a supportive family, sheer determination and a humble spirit breeds personal success.

My parental “super” team consists of my mother who contributes to the corporate world in banking and my father who provides the technical communication framework for businesses in eastern NC. Observing their approaches to their careers made my decision to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. The technical knowledge gained in the class, the teamwork mentality honed on the football field and commitment necessary to complete a rigorous curriculum will serve has solid preparation for my career aspiration to be an Aviation Survival Technician with the United State Coast Guard.

Even though I have laid out plans for my academic and professional career. I have to say the chance to play collegiate football will be a major accomplishment and it will be a great personal return of investment (ROI) for two important men in my life. First and foremost my father who has served has my mentor and coach for over five years as I played rec football and now high school football will know that all the time he devoted to me and my development were well spent. Secondly, to the man’s memory I honor each time I lace up my cleats, my grandfather who due to physical disabilities was unable to see me play football but never missed the opportunity to verbally tell me “you can do it”.

I confidently offer 3 major ROI points to the collegiate team I am fortunate become a part of. One (1) a young player who will listen, learn and leverage all coaching to produce best possible fit for the team. Two (2) a young leader who will represent a commitment to discipline on and off the gridiron. Three (3) a young man who knows that a successful team is made of different individuals who produce the most when they function as one.
