Personal Statement
My ultimate goal is to gain admission into a quality college or university who has made academics and athletics a major priority for their Student-Athletes. Ultimately I would receive a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management or Visual Arts and enjoy my playing experience as a collegiate football player.
The one aspect that sets me apart from any other prospect is my focus on being fully committed to fulfilling my dream - whether that is academically, athletically, or in the community. I am involved in many after school extra-curricular activities such as football, indoor soccer, sand soccer, surfing, skim boarding among many other types of recreational activities. I also enjoy Visual Arts such as drawing, painting and Digital Photography Editing.
I am driven to join a program that is competitive at every level and to also focus on my success in the classroom. Gaining a college degree is the most important priority of my college experience and means everything to me and my family. It is my dream to be the first in my family to earn a Bachelor's Degree. My older brother Troy Smith, who plays collegiately at Newport News Apprentice, earned an Associates Degree. Watching his successes, on and off the field, gave me the incentive to work hard and set my goal on a Bachelor Degree. That would mean a lot to myself - but would also give my young brother Will some initiative to keep studying as well as future underclassmen at CCHS.
Our Coach at Currituck County High School always told us that "Hard Work Wins." After going through the 2013 Season and winning a Conference Championship for the first time in 23 years - I believe it. The harder I work - the better WE become - that is the family atmosphere I'm looking for after my high school graduation as well. It is my hope that with hard work and dedication to this off season - Currituck County can win another conference championship and progress further into the playoffs than ever before. Family.
