Derek Conter '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Derek Conter I am 6' 5" and 185 lbs. My 40 yard dash time is a 4.91 and I am continuing to work towards shaving as much time as possble off that. I have played football for as long as I have been able to suit up and have had a strong desire to play the quarterback position for just as long. My freshman year I sat the bench, my sophomore year i started on JV and threw for over 800 yards and 14 touchdowns, my junior year I was a backup on varsity and recieved minimal playing time, going 3 for 6 with one touchdown and a total of 63 yards, this is my senior year and I am the starting quarterback on varsity with more stats to come as the season continues. As I have begun to prove myself i believe my teamates and coaches have started to recognize me more as a leader both on and off the field, also being the quarterback I believe I should be the hardest working and most influential player on the field. I want nothing more than to be a college athelete and will do whatever it takes to become a competitor at the highest level my abilities allow me reach. I do not feel that I have any requirements as far as the location of any school i wish to attend. However, academically I wish to attend a school with somewhat high standards and also the school MUST have my desired degree, which is Criminal Justice. Starting at a very young age I have always been taught that I should be humble, both because my position requires level-headedness, and because thats how we do it in the south. Therefore I am confident that my abilities will allow me to compete at the collegiate level and make an impact on the team that I fit best on. However I will always let my abilities speak for themselves and EARN my way on to a college campus.
