Personal Statement
I am Jack Rukamp, a sideline to sideline player with a strong ability to assess the situation and the field. I can see a play developing and I can flow to it easily and make the play whether that be stuffing a running play or dropping into coverage. I’m willing to play offense, defense and special teams, whatever it takes to help the team. I was really excited to be a key player contributing to our JV conference championship and 9-1 record as a first year football program at Green Level High School. I was happy to be part of the first varsity team in school history, score the first touchdown in Green Level history and also be the first all Conference player this year. I can't wait until the fall.
Losing both of my grandfathers inspired me to be a better person and to demonstrate my strength, consideration for teammates and coaches as well as dedication and hard work
When I was younger, in the early elementary school, I picked up flag football because I saw how much of a team sport it was and I wanted to develop an understanding of the game as well as a sense of brotherhood. Plus, I really love playing football, more than other sport, like baseball.
I have learned that one person can’t control the whole team, it has to be a team effort and if the bond isn’t strong then the team suffers. My short-term academic goals are simple: obtain straight A’s and score above average on my ACT so I stand a better chance of getting into the school of my choice.
I have overcome multiple obstacles, including moving from Panther Creek High School to Green Level High School and starting all over at a new school with new coaches. I addition, I had a fracture in my left hand prior to the last game of the season, but was able to ‘club’ it up and still lead the team in tackles during the championship game!
