Personal Statement
Playing football at the college level has always been a dream of mine, ever since I started playing back in 7th grade. Team sports are important to me, and football specifically has taught me many lessons on and off the field. I have learned about teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership. This has taught me to be a better leader and teammate.
Even though I play three sports in high school, I balance my time wisely, and I am still able to maintain my grades. Currently, my GPA is 4.40, and I have received straight A’s so for my freshman and sophomore years. I plan on continuing this time management skill and maintain the same level of academic achievement in college.
Although this was in 8th grade, I am proud to say that I was also a captain for my football team at McDougle Middle School, received the Mustang Award (MVP & leadership award), as well as the male Athlete Scholar award for my 8th grade graduating class.
I believe that my determination on the field and in the classroom makes me a very prominent prospect. I also bring to the field leadership experience as team captain this past season at Chapel Hill High School. My past coaches have always described me as reliable, hard-working, a team player and a talented athlete, and I will continue to make sure that I live up to those high standards. I know I have what it takes to be a leader on your team and I look forward to showing you all that the name “Savage” stands for.
